She loved him
More than she loved herself
But she couldn't find the courage
The courage to confess
The courage to express.

And that stayed-
The pusillanimity.
And it played,
The lead role
In their parting.

Now,
He is a thing of past,
She remembers,
How they had a blast
Everywhere they went,
But all of it had to end at last.

Just that,
She could have made
It last longer,
And maybe then,
Their bond
Could have become stronger,
And then they could,
Stay closer to each other.

If she could have tried,
It could have got easier,
They could have been together
Next to each other,
But it was her fear
Which overpowered her.

She was upset and going through the old stuff. Those albums, those gifts, those tiny little things and everything that she adored once were forgotten, maybe forever. But she realized how happy those days were. Those days of her childhood. She could hear the murmurs and the stories hidden behind each picture. Those drove her down to the memory lane. The times when everything was fun, everyone was good, every place was filled with adventure and every day was worth it. While looking at those pictures, she came across a picture which grabbed all her attention. It was of her school's annual show. And the person she was standing next to, the one who made that funny face and couldn't let her get a decent picture clicked, was her best friend, whom she knew nothing about presently-where was he, what was he doing, was he fine or not? She knew nothing. She really had to try hard to even remember his name. But when she did, it gave her hope to fetch him out of wherever he was. And she was successful. She looked for him on social networking and finally found him. They started talking and planned to meet. This was three years from today. And now, they are married. How just a little quarrel with her friend changed her life! In those pages of an album, she found her happiness, she found the love of her life.

Why cut her wings, when she can soar high?

A girl is not a stain on the name of your family. She can help the family's name soar high. She can do what sons can't do. She can love her dad more than a son, she can help her mum more than him, she can be more interested in taking care of the old grandparents and be the one uniting the whole family.

Yet, even today we see girls being devalued. Her wings are chopped and her freedom is taken away just because she is a girl.

The society fails to understand what value females have in our life. Even a mother, who had once been a child, favors the son over the daughter. When she herself has suffered, should she not be giving a stimulating environment to her daughter to rise and shine? Well, this happens rarely. Even after modernisation, there are many instances of female foeticide,of harassing the girl child, depriving her of facilities. Well, they too should be given an opportunity to develop and to prove her worth.

Give her wings to soar high. And if she falls, catch her and teach her to fly. But, never chop her wings away. She is gonna take your family's name on commendable heights and make you all proud. Just give her that 1 opportunity to prove herself. She'll stand up to your expectations.

She had known him since their schooling began. But, in that duration of around 13 years of schooling, they had never been as close as they were during the last year. Maybe because they felt that distance may do them apart. Whatever it was, it was a fresh start for them, a new chapter to their story. They were not just friends, definitely not, they had a relation stronger than that-that of sworn brother and sister. And he really meant it- he told this to her that he rarely calls any of his friends sisters, but when he does he actually means it. She may take this thing as fun or joke at times, but he? He was damn serious about her and their brother-sister relation. He accepted her as a sister by heart. They were more than just friends, more than just siblings, more than anything else. They were not connected by blood, or by some norms, but their hearts were connected as if he and she were meant to be, to be each others ever lasting support. They would talk whole day long and never get bored of each other or feel that they don't really have a topic to talk about. She was the only child of her parents so manier times she used to wonder "Had she had an elder brother, life could have been so much fun". She used top think that brothers can make the best of siblings. When she told this to him, he vowed to fulfill all the duties of an elder brother.
Since then, they had been by each other's side. They became very close friends. He used to protect her as a brother does and have fun together as friends do. He hugged her like a friend but loved her like a brother. He played various roles in her life- partner in crime, counselor, friend, brother- and so did she. Their relation was not that of intimacy, but was more than anything else. They had been very happy and promised to share every grief, sorrow and happiness together.

At times, you need to wait for the person you love to love you back. It's not always right to impose yourself on them or letting them go. Letting them go would mean ending everything which is really hard. And imposing yourself on others would be hurting them, hurting the one you loved which obviously is not what you really want. So all ypu need to do is sit back, wait and impress him/her. You need to prove yourself, you need to prove how much you really love the person. Make the person realize of your feelings but never impose yourself. Never try to harass her in the name of love. At times, you need to wait. And even she/he doesn't accept that'd be wrong for herself-you'll be losing a person who never loved you, but she? She/he'd be losing a person who loved her/him, cared for her/him, could do anything for her/him.

What a Simple Gesture can do?

Passing a smile to someone who seems sad can uplift his/her mood. First gesture towards friendship can change the lives of 2 people. A gesture of praising someone can motivate them. A friendly reprimand by a loved one can teach valuable lessons. In short,

A simple single gesture can do wonders to life of self and others

They had known each other since 7 years long. They were best of friends. And a study says that a friendship that crosses 7 years, lasts forever. Was that really true for them? Maybe! or Maybe not! Their story was quite different. They didn't really believe in PDAs. They had their own way. They teased each other, troubled each other, fought with each other but they never had to persuade each other. None of the two got upset with their petty fights. They fought and resumed talking to each other the next hour. In that duration of 7 years with those fights, teasing and stuff, they both didn't realize when they started falling for each other. But she realized it sooner than him. Then, finally came the time when he realized his feelings. She feared to confess because she was scared that she would lose her best friend-the one she could confide in, the one she could be crazy with, the one with whom she could be the real person she was. And what did he fear? He feared that he would hurt her and her feelings. He feared that she would lose faith in friendship cause he knew this was not the first time this happened with her. This had happened with her manier times-people became friends with her and then left her. But little did they both know, they were both craving to be together-to get into a relationship, to just love each other, to confess their feelings. And, they just remained friends forever. But best friends. The friendship that no effort could break. They could never be separated fron each other. They just realized that love was not only to be loved in exchange, but just to care about the one whom you love without being concerned of something in exchange. Without any expectations.

She was waiting for him to return from work as always. She was thinking how he would react to his favorite food she cooked for him. And then the bell rang. She went to check the door. And there he was standing with a bouquet of flowers in hand. She welcomed him with a smile, thinking that maybe today would be a happy day. They talked about their day, rather his day. Not her day? Yes, not her day because what could she do the whole day? She would just stay at home. He was possessive about her, she couldn't step out of the house without him and in the beginning she didn't mind it much. She thought that could be his love for her. Of course he loved her. But his way of expressing it was wrong. He used to hit her, force her, lock her in the room for days without food or water, deprive her of the external world and call it his way of loving her. He used hit her and give her those everlasting bruises. She had loved the wrong person and got herself stuck with the wrong person into a wrong relationship. It was really hard for her to escape now.
At one point of time,
She had loved him
All of him
Yet she received
Those bruises
Those everlasting bruises
On her face, her body
And mostly on her heart...

And that evening, happened the same. He was stressed from work. He got flowers for her, but with thorns that pricked her fingers. He forced her-stuffed her mouth with food calling it tasteless, when it tasted the best. He hit her for all the beautiful things she did for him that evening.

Poem 9: I Wish

I wish I could escape this materialistic world,
And enter a life serene and peaceful....

I wish I could elope these paper towns,
And enter a tranquil place devoid of fakeness….

I wish I could enter a 'Musical World',
Where the right music played at the right time....

I wish I could end up in Paradise,
And continue my life the way I want...

I wish...  I wish...  And I wish...,
In the hope that one day I would end up in this Utopian hallucination of mine.....

Poem #8: Chained in Past

Every day that passes,
Takes away from me my confidence,
Because my past chases,
Leaving me helpless for my defense.

My dreadful past,
Always walks along with me,
Cause I'm not from a well-to-do caste,
I asked my past to flee.

But like a ghost it returned,
Making my life hell,
I was caught and burned,
But it didn't accept my farewell.

My life is shattered,
Like a mirror,
Every bit is scattered,
I can only see my smile disappear.

I have lost all the courage,
To fight against it,
I have lost all the strength at this age,
And all I am left with is to sit back and watch..... That's it!!!

Poem #7: My first grief

My first grief,
I’m gonna tell you,
Is in brief,
It’s really true,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

It was a pain,
When I had to gain,
Some confidence to walk in the lane,
As I felt everything was insane,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

I had to bear,
Those tear rolling down my eyes,
Losing my teddy bear,
Was my only fear,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

When I lost my dear-bear,
It was my fear ,
I was very young,
When I sung the songs of sorrows,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

I couldn’t bear,
The death of my bear,
I felt to tear,
The world for my dear-bear,

She loved him More than she loved herself But she couldn't find the courage The courage to confess The courage to express. And that...
