Poem #8: Chained in Past

Every day that passes,
Takes away from me my confidence,
Because my past chases,
Leaving me helpless for my defense.

My dreadful past,
Always walks along with me,
Cause I'm not from a well-to-do caste,
I asked my past to flee.

But like a ghost it returned,
Making my life hell,
I was caught and burned,
But it didn't accept my farewell.

My life is shattered,
Like a mirror,
Every bit is scattered,
I can only see my smile disappear.

I have lost all the courage,
To fight against it,
I have lost all the strength at this age,
And all I am left with is to sit back and watch..... That's it!!!

Poem #7: My first grief

My first grief,
I’m gonna tell you,
Is in brief,
It’s really true,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

It was a pain,
When I had to gain,
Some confidence to walk in the lane,
As I felt everything was insane,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

I had to bear,
Those tear rolling down my eyes,
Losing my teddy bear,
Was my only fear,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

When I lost my dear-bear,
It was my fear ,
I was very young,
When I sung the songs of sorrows,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

I couldn’t bear,
The death of my bear,
I felt to tear,
The world for my dear-bear,

Poem #6: Today's youth, Tomorrow's Future

Confused about what we need,
Misguided by the ones who lead,
It’s dark and we can no longer cope,
Yet no one dares to offer us hope,
Open your eyes and see the truth,
The world brews no future from today’s youth,
No future from today’s youth.

Dreams of youth,
Froth upon the waves of our lives,
Let’s see if the future survives,
Let’s see if the future survives.

Dreams are big,
But efforts are less,
Some give away a jig,
But some try to gain success,
But some try to gain success

Let’s Honor our youth,
For today and tomorrow,
To keep away your sorrow,
To guard everything including your tooth,
To guard everything including your tooth.

A region of repose it seems,
A place of slumber and dreams,
Remote among the wooded hills,
Wake up youth! To fulfil,
All your dreams,
To prove as a guardian of the future,
To prove as a guardian of the future.

Poem #5: A Zoo Without Animals

There was a zoo,
Which I do think,
That it was not a zoo,
It was a zoo without animals.

It seemed to be a park,
Which was remarked,
With cages and torn pages all around,
Because it was a zoo without animals.

No lions and deers,
No tigers and bears,
No fears and tears,
Because it was a zoo without animals.

Imagine the condition of the zoo keeper,
He was trying to hide more deeper,
But who ran were the animals and the sweeper,
Poor keeper had to bear all those slippers,
Because it was a zoo without animals.

There was a monkey,
And a donkey,
Which named itself as Sunky,
He dressed itself as a lion,
Oh1 it was a funny day,
In the month of May,
As I visited a zoo without animals,

You won’t believe me but it was actually a zoo without animals.

Poem #4: Bond of Love

Grandparent and Grandchildren,
Together they create a chain of love,
Like a peaceful dove,
The chain may lengthen but it will never part,
Like a bond of love.

Their relation is the most precious thing in the world,
They might fight,
But they light,
Each other’s future without any fright,
Like a bond of love.

They aren’t alike,
But they wait,
Because it isn’t too late,
And try to understand each other,
Like a bond of love.

This chain,
Is to gain the love of each other,
As they love each other even more than their father and mother
Like a bond of love.

ROLE OF MEDIA IN THE CURRENT POLITICAL SCENARIO IN INDIA

The vote is the most powerful instrument ever devised by man for breaking down injustice and destroying walls which imprison men because they are different from other men,” said Lyndon B Johnson.

Media plays a very important role in our country. It has been actively participating in proving us information about our politicians. I hope you remember that recently elections took place in our country. Didn’t you see how hard media worked to provide us information? It started broadcasting information about elections well before the elections and till today they tell us the actions of the political parties and their leaders.

Malcolm X said, “Media is the most powerful entity on the Earth. They have the power to show the innocent guilty and the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” Media plays a vital role in molding a good society. It gives us information of what’s going around the world. It provides a public forum for debates between political leaders. During campaigns, opposing candidates often broadcast advertisements and debates with each other on television. Many voters learn a great deal about the candidates and the issues by watching these advertisements and debates. Even during years without elections, the mass media allows elected officials to explain their actions via news stories and interviews.

The worst part I find about this is that some people buy media. And media then shows everything in favor of the candidate. Don’t you think it’s a wrong way?

Media is really important but it’s must that it has freedom. It shouldn’t be bought by any political party for its proper functioning. In the end I would like to conclude by saying a few lines of the poem written by Mike Wilson to highlight the importance of media in our lives.

The media controls our life,
Directs our thoughts, explores the strife
Of little things that don’t deserve
To be expanded with such verve.
The general public does its best
To sift the news and leave the rest
Inconsequentially to those

Whose income is from talk back shows.

Success is domain of the streets smart not the books smart

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who learnt from his mistakes and fought against failure; who accepted every obstacle without sigh and bid adieu to them with smile; who learnt from his life to move forward and face every problem; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction.

So, what do you think? Is success the domain of the book smart or street smart? I think success is the domain of the street smart.

Think over it once. Is it only academics that prove you to be a successful person? Of course not! Have a look around you! The past, the present and the future. Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, William Shakespeare, Mark Twain and Steve Jobs! Were they all academically good? No they weren’t but they were successful even more than the ones who were academically good.

Let’s have a look on a few of them!

Einstein! Albert Einstein was known as a genius. But did you know that he was a high school dropout?

Now one of the most famous names in history-William Shakespeare. There is not much information about him but based on some of his writings scholars suggested that he didn’t attend school past the age of 13.

The last but not the least, Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple. He created the 1st successful personal computers, and over the years helped introduce numerous revolutionary products such as iPods, iPads and iPhones. And he did this after attending college for only 6 months.
Now what do you think? “For the most part, the more schooling you receive, the more successful you will be in your chosen path,” said Jeff Kelley. But after what I said now, do you think the same as Kelley said? Do you think only people who are academically good can gather success?

Successful people are those who look around them instead of being a nerd or a geek. Accepting the world around you and expressing your views is all that is needed to be a successful person. There’s this dialogue from the movie 3 idiots “Never run after success, do your job at your best, and success will come running behind you.” Studying is good but every time studying makes it feel like you are running after success. But enjoying the world around you, learning from it good things and putting them in real life will lead to success running behind you.

I would like to conclude by saying what I believe,” success is with the man who doesn’t include it in his life.”

If speech is silver, then silence is gold

The Bible says, “Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace is counted wise, and he that shutheth his lips is esteemed as a man of understanding.”
This is a 19th century proverb. It emphasizes the importance of silence. In case one feels that silence will pay better dividends, one should restrain from talking, even if one is provoked to give a piece of mind.
This proverb also condemns empty speech. That’s why it says that speech is silver and silence is golden. Joseph Goldstein, a philosopher once vowed not to speak behind someone’s back. He discovered that 90% of his speech was eliminated which makes me wonder can we make our silence more useful to ourselves and to our planet. Silence doesn’t mean the state of thoughtlessness. The rich silence that is at the root of various plans and programs which brings peace and happiness to millions of people is golden.
It is a natural thing to like to hear your own voice, and people often talk too much. But remember, empty vessels make the most noise.
You might have seen when two friends meet they, the silence of their reunion fills their hearts with love, faith and affection for each other. Words are not needed.
If you are silent your concentration power increases and it helps you work more efficiently which results in better outcomes. It will surely help you reach the heights of success.
If you are silent you can observe the people around you better. It is said that Sardar Patel used to speak very little and instead listen to various points of others. Such a leader immediately after the independence achieved the miracle of welding various princely states into one nation.
You might have observed when your parents give you an angry look, you start behaving without a single word having been uttered. A look can speak louder than words!
It is said Couples who can listen to each other’s silence don’t need words to understand one another. The focus on silence is emphasized in the corporate world too – the word “silent” is an anagram of “listen” and without the former, one can’t achieve the latter. Actors such as Sanjeev Kumar & Jaya Bachchan who played mute in films like Koshish and to some extent in Sholay, have demonstrated the effective use of silence in lieu of dialogues.
So you can see how powerful silence can be! It can express a range of emotions like love, faith and affection. And at times anger and agony.
We all want gold because of its shine and beauty.  Similarly we need to possess a golden quality within us that is to speak less and listen more. A person is admired not only because of his ethics and values but also because of his silence which definitely speaks more than words.
I read these words in a blog written by Banashree Palit and I would love to share them with you- “If you have a speech of excellence, the better you teach. But when you have the power of silence, the higher you reach”
So be a good listener as your ears will never let you in trouble but your words may..

Poem #3: True Friendship

Its not easy to make true friends, and when you get one, your life completely changes. So here I write another poem for all my friends who are reading this poem... Cause you all are truly my true friends!!!!

No words to say,
From the time the sun showers its rays
On my face,
Till the moon completely hides its face,
You are alive in my memory always...

For me, you are like a song,
With an effect that lasts long,
With a rhythmic beat,
The song, the whole day, I repeat....

To forget you is impossible,
To live without you is hard,
Wanna be with you forever,
And i know you'll be there with me forever 'n' ever....

Like flowers blossom the garden,
You blossom my day,
All men and women,
May think I'm insane,
Because, about our bond, they're unaware,
But, you know, I don't care....

We might fight,
But that's life,
And, I guess, that's right,
After all our bond gets all the more stronger after all the silly fights...

I just have to say this to you,
"You have no clue,
How much I love you,
And how much i admire you.."

I just know,
You are the best person in my life,
And without you,
I have no will to live this life...

All my problems, with you I share,
Without you I am incomplete,
My days become amazing when we meet,
And they seem to last too long when we don't meet...

Stay there with me always,
In the dark,
With me, I know, you stay,
From those dark ways,
You drag me out always..
And I know you will be there always,
And my blind-faith in you will be alive always....

Poem #2: A Salute to Our Country Lovers: Our Soldiers

For years and years,
Working very hard,
Our country they guard,
But they’ve never got a reward.

They are courageous and strong,
They are the ones,
Who fight for the right and the wrongs,
They are our country’s sons.

They are our soldiers,
With broaden shoulders,
They show that they are proud,
They fight for us to make us all proud.

They devote their life,
To the country,
For us they might strife,
I think they deserve to go to heaven after life.

I salute to such people,
Who work endlessly for us,
Whole day and night,
But who understands their plight?

Far away they live,
From their families,
A peaceful life they give,
What we see is not what he gives,
We see what he takes,

A salute to them,
Who guard our country,
Whole day and night,
Without any regret.

Poem #1:My Mother-My Lifeline

God gifted me,
With the best mom,
Like the leaves of a tree,
She protects me from every harm,
Oh! Thank you god for such a wonderful gift.

Things were different when I was young,
When I was young,
My mum was just a mother for me,
But now she is also my friend,
Oh! Thank you god for such a beautiful friend.

She has always been with me,
Matching her steps,
She supported me,
Keeping her problems aside,
She has always been with me,
Oh! Thank you god for such a marvellous supporter.

Some people told me,
That mothers scold,
But I told them,
That my mum is a gem,
Oh! Thank you god for such a precious gem.

All mothers are good,
But mine is the best,
Better than the rest,
She is an angel for me,
Oh!Thank you god for such an amazing mother,
I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

She loved him More than she loved herself But she couldn't find the courage The courage to confess The courage to express. And that...
