Poem #8: Chained in Past

Every day that passes,
Takes away from me my confidence,
Because my past chases,
Leaving me helpless for my defense.

My dreadful past,
Always walks along with me,
Cause I'm not from a well-to-do caste,
I asked my past to flee.

But like a ghost it returned,
Making my life hell,
I was caught and burned,
But it didn't accept my farewell.

My life is shattered,
Like a mirror,
Every bit is scattered,
I can only see my smile disappear.

I have lost all the courage,
To fight against it,
I have lost all the strength at this age,
And all I am left with is to sit back and watch..... That's it!!!

Poem #7: My first grief

My first grief,
I’m gonna tell you,
Is in brief,
It’s really true,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

It was a pain,
When I had to gain,
Some confidence to walk in the lane,
As I felt everything was insane,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

I had to bear,
Those tear rolling down my eyes,
Losing my teddy bear,
Was my only fear,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

When I lost my dear-bear,
It was my fear ,
I was very young,
When I sung the songs of sorrows,
My first grief,
Which I can’t tell even in brief.

I couldn’t bear,
The death of my bear,
I felt to tear,
The world for my dear-bear,

Poem #6: Today's youth, Tomorrow's Future

Confused about what we need,
Misguided by the ones who lead,
It’s dark and we can no longer cope,
Yet no one dares to offer us hope,
Open your eyes and see the truth,
The world brews no future from today’s youth,
No future from today’s youth.

Dreams of youth,
Froth upon the waves of our lives,
Let’s see if the future survives,
Let’s see if the future survives.

Dreams are big,
But efforts are less,
Some give away a jig,
But some try to gain success,
But some try to gain success

Let’s Honor our youth,
For today and tomorrow,
To keep away your sorrow,
To guard everything including your tooth,
To guard everything including your tooth.

A region of repose it seems,
A place of slumber and dreams,
Remote among the wooded hills,
Wake up youth! To fulfil,
All your dreams,
To prove as a guardian of the future,
To prove as a guardian of the future.

Poem #5: A Zoo Without Animals

There was a zoo,
Which I do think,
That it was not a zoo,
It was a zoo without animals.

It seemed to be a park,
Which was remarked,
With cages and torn pages all around,
Because it was a zoo without animals.

No lions and deers,
No tigers and bears,
No fears and tears,
Because it was a zoo without animals.

Imagine the condition of the zoo keeper,
He was trying to hide more deeper,
But who ran were the animals and the sweeper,
Poor keeper had to bear all those slippers,
Because it was a zoo without animals.

There was a monkey,
And a donkey,
Which named itself as Sunky,
He dressed itself as a lion,
Oh1 it was a funny day,
In the month of May,
As I visited a zoo without animals,

You won’t believe me but it was actually a zoo without animals.

Poem #4: Bond of Love

Grandparent and Grandchildren,
Together they create a chain of love,
Like a peaceful dove,
The chain may lengthen but it will never part,
Like a bond of love.

Their relation is the most precious thing in the world,
They might fight,
But they light,
Each other’s future without any fright,
Like a bond of love.

They aren’t alike,
But they wait,
Because it isn’t too late,
And try to understand each other,
Like a bond of love.

This chain,
Is to gain the love of each other,
As they love each other even more than their father and mother
Like a bond of love.

ROLE OF MEDIA IN THE CURRENT POLITICAL SCENARIO IN INDIA

The vote is the most powerful instrument ever devised by man for breaking down injustice and destroying walls which imprison men because they are different from other men,” said Lyndon B Johnson.

Media plays a very important role in our country. It has been actively participating in proving us information about our politicians. I hope you remember that recently elections took place in our country. Didn’t you see how hard media worked to provide us information? It started broadcasting information about elections well before the elections and till today they tell us the actions of the political parties and their leaders.

Malcolm X said, “Media is the most powerful entity on the Earth. They have the power to show the innocent guilty and the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” Media plays a vital role in molding a good society. It gives us information of what’s going around the world. It provides a public forum for debates between political leaders. During campaigns, opposing candidates often broadcast advertisements and debates with each other on television. Many voters learn a great deal about the candidates and the issues by watching these advertisements and debates. Even during years without elections, the mass media allows elected officials to explain their actions via news stories and interviews.

The worst part I find about this is that some people buy media. And media then shows everything in favor of the candidate. Don’t you think it’s a wrong way?

Media is really important but it’s must that it has freedom. It shouldn’t be bought by any political party for its proper functioning. In the end I would like to conclude by saying a few lines of the poem written by Mike Wilson to highlight the importance of media in our lives.

The media controls our life,
Directs our thoughts, explores the strife
Of little things that don’t deserve
To be expanded with such verve.
The general public does its best
To sift the news and leave the rest
Inconsequentially to those

Whose income is from talk back shows.

Success is domain of the streets smart not the books smart

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who learnt from his mistakes and fought against failure; who accepted every obstacle without sigh and bid adieu to them with smile; who learnt from his life to move forward and face every problem; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction.

So, what do you think? Is success the domain of the book smart or street smart? I think success is the domain of the street smart.

Think over it once. Is it only academics that prove you to be a successful person? Of course not! Have a look around you! The past, the present and the future. Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, William Shakespeare, Mark Twain and Steve Jobs! Were they all academically good? No they weren’t but they were successful even more than the ones who were academically good.

Let’s have a look on a few of them!

Einstein! Albert Einstein was known as a genius. But did you know that he was a high school dropout?

Now one of the most famous names in history-William Shakespeare. There is not much information about him but based on some of his writings scholars suggested that he didn’t attend school past the age of 13.

The last but not the least, Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple. He created the 1st successful personal computers, and over the years helped introduce numerous revolutionary products such as iPods, iPads and iPhones. And he did this after attending college for only 6 months.
Now what do you think? “For the most part, the more schooling you receive, the more successful you will be in your chosen path,” said Jeff Kelley. But after what I said now, do you think the same as Kelley said? Do you think only people who are academically good can gather success?

Successful people are those who look around them instead of being a nerd or a geek. Accepting the world around you and expressing your views is all that is needed to be a successful person. There’s this dialogue from the movie 3 idiots “Never run after success, do your job at your best, and success will come running behind you.” Studying is good but every time studying makes it feel like you are running after success. But enjoying the world around you, learning from it good things and putting them in real life will lead to success running behind you.

I would like to conclude by saying what I believe,” success is with the man who doesn’t include it in his life.”

She loved him More than she loved herself But she couldn't find the courage The courage to confess The courage to express. And that...
